In the Shadow of the Horns (Cthulhu London)

In the Shadow of the Horns (Cthulhu London)

I decided to do something a bit different for NaNoWriMo 2021 and put my efforts into creating an adventure scenario for Call of Cthulhu 7e. After play-testing with the regular group that I run as Keeper, I’m pleased to say that the scenario is now available for purchase as a PDF and makes a great addition to any campaign set in London, UK.

Cross Marker

Underneath the landmarks of London lies a hidden darkness, one that has begun to secure its release. A series of suicides all share a common mark and the investigators have been brought in to find out what connects these otherwise seemingly unrelated deaths. Unbeknownst to them, a race against the clock has begun before a great evil is unleashed!

In the Shadow of the Horns is a one-shot scenario for Call of Cthulhu 7e that can be played over one or two sessions, set in London in 1925. It can be played as a stand-alone adventure or as an interlude in a wider campaign narrative set in the UK such as Cthulhu Britannica. The scenario is designed for 3-5 investigators and can be easily adapted to other time settings, including modern day.

This scenario PDF includes:

  • Three Act structure with sandbox elements run to a tight deadline
  • 35 pages of detailed locations, characters and event descriptions
  • Handouts for Players
  • Maps of Central London and St Paul’s Cathedral
  • 4-6 hour scenario ideal for 4 investigators

Note: this scenario contains themes of suicide, which can be altered if needed to mysterious deaths of another kind with a small amount of customisation by the Keeper.

In the Shadow of the Horns is available as a full-colour PDF on DriveThruRPG for $5.95

You can also pick it up as part of a Writer Workshop Fall 2021 bundle put together by Chaosium, which includes 11 collected scenarios for $19.95
